Not for small kids and not sturdy. December 29, 2008 D. J. I normally don't write reviews, but given the money I forked out for this toy, I wanted to save other parent's pocketbooks. As with the some of the other reviews, it is pretty difficult (even for an adult) to get the batcycle reloaded, because you have to push the figure back deep within the toy until it clicks. The spring is touchy and doesn't always want to slide back. You then have to get the three sides properly aligned and snapped together to get it to close. A small child can't get their hands around it to do this. The plastic is pretty cheap. One of the sides flew off the car when we launched the cycle and fortunately, I was able to snap it back on, but I'm not sure how long it will last. You would be much better off buying a single piece stealth car (much more durable)and cycle separately. You may lose the launch function, but a child can launch the cycle much more easily than this toy. An older kid (> 8) probably could have fun with this, but durability would still be an issue.
Well designed toy that is functional & fun, mattel needs everything as good as this toy. December 28, 2008 bookreader (Marina, CA USA) This toy has been the biggest hit at our home, our youngest (3 years old) final master the loading after three showings and two assisted helpings. He is now loading and shooting all over the place. The small wheels on the bottom are there to allow the vehicle to roll once the arms blast out and up. The rocket launchers are sturdy and the batcycle is soft but not cheap. I am very impressed with this toy and so are my boys. I would take a look at amazons frustration free packaging also. The toy basically comes ready to play, through Amazon.
Not So Sturdy December 26, 2008 Minivan Mom (NJ USA) While this toy may look realistic it is by no means sturdy for playing with. My son opened this toy for Christmas and it does not shut properly with the batpod inside. Very cheaply made as most China products these days. Very frustrating for a 5 year old and a 36 year old to put together! Very disappointing.
Thank you stealth launch batmobile, for ruining my son's Christmas! December 25, 2008 Eric Knapp (NJ USA) my guess is that this piece of crap was already broken before we even opened it. It does not launch the batpod, it does not launch the missiles and after attempting to reposition the bat pod in the bat mobile, it became stuck to the point that we can't even close the batmobile at all. This is all within 5 minutes of adult-supervised playing with this waste of money. This is the only toy our son wanted for Christmas and he is so disappointed that he cannot play with it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS THING!
Frustrating glitch just hours out of the box. December 21, 2008 somebody out there (Tx) Let me start out by saying I think this toy could be pretty cool. I bought it for my 5 yr old son because he's into superheroes and at first he was very excited about it. But after playing with it for a few hours the two side panels started to get harder to snap into place. After that they started just popping out of place on their own with even the slightest bit of movement. My son still thinks it's fun but gets a little upset when he's pushing it around and constantly has to snap the sides back into place. I just feel like it's too flimsy for what it was designed to do.
